The Beijing Arts District
The Arts district in Beijing was awesome to see. It had elements from its past such as industrial piping and structure as well as old brick buildings covered in beautiful artwork all over the walls (graffiti), most of all its redevelopment made it extremely lively with shops, restaurants, statues, museums, and more. It was extremely hot as always but every building had its air conditioning on full blast. There were several instances of buildings being built around trees, instead of trees being torn down. From my impression I can see that the arts district is trying to evolve and preserve at the same time.
