Shanghai Skyscrapers
As we approached these massive sky scrapers in Shanghai, we were talking about which one was the tallest. Because of our vantage point at the base we couldn't tell. What we did know however is that they were absolutely immense. We walked inside and waited in a relatively dark area after having our bags checked. The approach to the top was made to be very cinematic in that there was lots of lighting affects to make it seem like you were in a space ship from the year 3000 or something. The elevator was extremely fast. The top was amazing. You could see every single thing in the city, other sky scrapers were underneath us being dwarfed by how tall this tower was. It was interesting seeing the different sections of the city. There were definite differences between where residents lived and where tourists would go. It felt very western in my opinion. I asked why Shanghai wasn't the capitol because having the massive downtown sure made it look like the capitol. It turns out that Shanghai really is the financial capitol of China, but Beijing is the political and traditional capitol of China and so it remains. Whenever I go back to China, I think a majority of my time will definitely be in Shanghai.
