After our departure from Beijing, we stopped for one night in a town called Tongli, after walking for a mile with all our luggage, we got to travel to many different sites and see various gardens, museums, and the town as a whole. It had a very touristy feel but it was still extremely cool to see. After a while I felt like different gardens got a bit boring but luckily we were done looking at them. As night fell we got a ride on one of the boats that travels through the river around the town. Seeing the entire town from a different perspective. As much as it was interesting, I felt like Tongli was somewhat artificial. It seemed like it was built only for tourists and the people working there did not seem like they lived there. It was odd, but I can't explain exactly why.
